Although divinity is our birthright we have somehow managed to forget such concepts and in doing so, have created the illusion that we control time and the flow of life with our minds or our ego rather than our divinity. When people do this they somehow end up feeling worse off and for many, they stake their lives on milestones they have made and end up feeling like they have failed at what they have created so far.
So, what is time? Why do we even have it? Can we change it? Let’s take a look.
What is Time?
One thing that I have learned in my last few years is that there really is no such thing as time and the illusion of it creates so much haste in our lives that many of us base our entire lives around it. Many people think they have to have a certain amount of money in the bank by the time they’re 40 or married by the time they’re 25. Of course, they believe this because of something they’ve been told and unfortunately, if they don’t reach these imaginary goals then failure alludes them.
So, what happens if we just forget about time? Would the world come to an end? Doubtful. Would there be mass hysteria? Probably not. Yet we continue down this journey of hitting milestone after milestone.
I decided quite a few years ago to forget this illusion when I began following the wisdom of the Tao Te Ching and when you start changing the way you look at things, your life really changes too. Don’t get me wrong, time is great when we need to get to work, when we need to know when we need to be at the dentist, but the overall balance of time is important, too.
When you’re free to flow as water, you’re free to communicate naturally information is exchanged, and knowledge advances in a way that benefits everyone.
- The Tao Te Ching, Verse 8
Time is an illusion. This is put to you generally but it’s still true. What we see at hours, days, weeks, months, it’s all built into this cosmos within the Universe and we fall for it. The Universe is perfect in every way and everything within it flows beautifully within and around it with no acceptions, ever. Why don’t we see this? Probably because we are so caught up in the illusion that we fail to see what’s around it but if we really think about it, time makes little sense anyway.
What if We Just Let Things Unfold on Their Own Time?
Learning the wisdom of the Tao taught me to flow within the life I was given, never expecting anything, never forcing anything, just allowing and trusting that what will come to me will be perfect. Not only that, everything that comes to us only does so with our permission because we never ever attract anything without asking the Universe for it. Of course, this may sound odd when you think of all the awful things that you’ve somehow managed to create in your life at this moment but I’m sorry to say that yes, this was created by you.
So what is going on in your life right now that you don’t think is happening fast enough? What do you want to speed up? The reason that it is not here with you yet is because you are not yet lined up with whatever it is. You may want to meet a nice lady to share your life with yet you can’t seem to find her but it’s only because it’s not the right time yet but when I say it’s not the right time I don’t mean that the right time will come when it comes, I mean the right time will come when you allow it to because nothing will ever reach you before you are ready.
This is why it’s so important to just live life and take it as it comes because everything that reaches you has done so in perfect timing and as soon as you were ready for it. It’s also important to remember that when we rush things, when we think it should happen now and it’s not, we aren’t showing gratitude to the Universe for what we have brought in and what is happening now and so we delay it even more. This is why living with gratitude in our hearts as often as we can is just an exhilarating way to live.
When the Time is Right, It will Happen on It’s Own
I invite everyone who is reading this to just take a look back at what has happened in their lives and when and see just how perfect everything happened. I know that there were plenty of things that I wanted in my life over my 28 years and at the time they seemed like the most important things ever but now I look back I see that they all happened just at the right time.
I have learned that we have a subconscious and a lot of the time, unfortunately, that doesn’t line up with our ego… thank goodness! So, I see that everything actually happened more perfectly that I ever thought it could be. Everything happens just as it should and just at the right time, all the time.
Trusting in the Universe is the first step to seeing things and trusting that nothing ever goes wrong and besides, the excitement is in the journey, not the destination.
